I spent two weeks in "The Hole" in California, and my first thought was "no prob, I'll meditate and do yoga." Let me tell you, in three days I was at the brink of insanity and in tears. It broke me. Later, however, long after my incarceration and during the lock-downs, I was absolutely unfazed as a result. Let that sink in.
I am on 10.14 because there are some 32-bit apps I can't replace (either because there are no 64-bit versions, for instance some old emulators, or because there are but they cost money, or there are but they have other changes which I don't like. MS Office is an example of both of the latter.
It does work, but it's a little clunky IMHO. For instance, if you press Return in the middle of a line, I expect it to split the current paragraph into 2, but not in OutlineEdit (or Outlinely or OmniOutline).
there is not much to be dictatorial about, the gemini standard won't evolve and are designed to resist change. ( it's somewhere in the manifesto or FAQ )
It's kind of it "as-is", and not about the tech. But about being free from it and focusing on producting/consuming content in written form.
Sorry to be defensive, but I've been using a bringing writers to Gemini in the last year, and I never had to think about the governance of the protocol.
