Link the charts! Do you think they’re awesome?

Another explanation: chart wielding optimists are in the top 10% wealth bracket in the US (And their friends are), so they’ve experienced everything getting cheaper over the last 30 years.

Then they ignore scary graphs like the deaths of despair one here: https://www.jec.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/republicans/2019...

There are simple, expensive answers: highly diligent social workers focusing on homelessness outreach + massive affordable housing construction that crunches housing prices. Regulate the substances but have them available to addicts, and make sure fentanyl is out of the supply chain, and make selling drugs outside the regulated system a felony.

We’re just not willing to pay the bills.

Not saying you’re wrong in the context of your locale, but there are many places around the world that are not plagued with these problems and have dealt with them in very different ways.

The people that are proposing the bills are not the same that pay the bills.

The same people that talk talk will pull a NIMBY.

Same with politicians, propose something bold and daring, just not in their lobbyst backyard.

Was expecting a deep dive into cancer therapeutics and startups working in the space.

This is not that.

very misleading title given how diverse AI applications are in medicine.

Exactly. There's lots of things AI/ML is being used for in medicine besides image analysis for diagnostic purposes. It's helping laboratory researchers analyze their data and pick which hypotheses to investigate further, for example.

There’s research that getting really hot (ie with hot saunas) can affect depression. One interesting supporting finding is that if you run around but don’t get hot (ie don’t sweat) then the exercise doesn’t do much for depression

Last I checked you need ag tech to eat /s

Joking aside, it’s true that some folks have lives that require 350k liquid comp. If that’s you, staying at a cushy role in FAANG might be the right call. But for tons of brilliant people that’s not the case.

Few of those people really require 350k. That's a lot of charitable donation or medical treatments for family. Simply living a life that spends that much on a big house in an exclusive area and travelling extensively for vacation is more of a want than a need.

Back when those were created, SaaS was the frontier!

“…completely unmoored from the purpose of business, which is to make money by providing a product or service within a given schedule, scope, and cost.”

Or perhaps to solve an important problem in the world, within a given scope and cost!

If this is a problem that a bunch of people actually complain about, hardware makers will just introduce apis to let systems know a human is typing. Think verified buyer on Amazon

Not quite accurate, some climate cos getting funded at Seed and preseed by Fifty Years and Lower Carbon. Trick is small number of great teams here, who also see a distinctive advantage to going through YC. YC can’t overcome that without significant effort.
