Having lag trouble? Mine had been getting worse and worse, so today I finally reset my phone. No issues at all now. (issues included delays in opening messages, delays in characters appearing in the text box after attempting to type on the keyboard, and delays in responding after the send button was pressed)

If autocorrect is being trouble, you can always reset your autocorrect dictionary - it seems to get into bad habits sometimes.

The auto learning black box is an idiotic idea.

I've definitely been looking at GSOC for next year. It looks like a great opportunity. I'll start looking around at organizations now - thanks for the advice!

I can one-up you there - not only was it my birthday, it was my 17th as well :-)

Getting a 500 error - API limit?

Yes, just getting a lot of traffic from HN. Please keep window open and try again in 15min, sorry...

Error: 429 Rate limit reached for gpt-4-vision-preview in organization org-... on requests per day (RPD): Limit 100, Used 100, Requested 1. Please try again in 14m24s. Visit https://platform.openai.com/account/rate-limits to learn more.

I get an HTTP 500 on Chrome. On Firefox, I just get a NextJS NetworkError when it tries to fetch the screenshot. I'll try again later with Chrome

Thanks, it's OpenAI's rate limiting indeed.

Just deployed a version that shows some UI indications of OpenAI limit errors.

Please try again later today.

I would assume that operating loss wouldn't include the initial cost of building. Could be wrong though.

Could be loan repayments are rolled into the loss? Not that I have any particular knowledge.

You don't need to assume, it's confirmed in the very first sentence of the article.

Very entertaining.

Many features can be disabled, and most allow you to do things the old way (e.g., closing the trunk manually), but some features either block you from doing things any other way or making it extremely difficult to do the old way, for example minivans with power doors make make it very difficult to open a door manually and refuse to open when the vehicle is not in park.

Old cars have their own drawbacks, but at least they're not bossy.

I haven't been following crypto for a while, but I thought that there weren't really any cryptocurrencies that were profitable to mine anymore. Has something changed, or did I miss something?

That's true only for GPU based mining setups, Ethereum going Proof of Stake destroyed profitability.

The ASIC based setups mining bitcoin are still profitable.

Bitcoin has had a nice boost over the past week, since our useless regulators are on the verge of approving a Blackrock ETF for it.

It’s profitable when the state subsidizes your electricity.

Some people also don't do math well, or fall for sunk cost motivations. For example, they've already spent a bunch of money on equipment. I know someone who justified it to himself by claiming that the heat output in his house during the Winter reduced his heating bill, so the losses weren't as bad.

What was the bottom line or net result in financial terms?

Losing at least a couple hundred dollars a month. Varied based on season.

My first guess for that particular case is that PROD and DEV are often either parts of hostnames for those particular machines or are referring to hostnames, which are often written in all caps.

How does this compare to GUIs like llamero (https://github.com/mpociot/llamero) and gpt4all (https://gpt4all.io/index.html)?

It has playground with prompt saving and (simple) templates, chat saving, builtin model downloader. It's also very small, most people don't care about that, but I do.
