We just two person team, currently we trying to stabilize on iOS developing, then we’ll definitely looking for Android version, lots of people asked for this too!
A trivial idea that might help you: nowadays, you can easily build entire Android and iOS apps by using ChatGPT, even if you have no experience in either platform (though you will need some general programming experience to catch and work around occasional problems). Karpathy mentioned something similar in his recent talk.
Hah, thanks for the idea!
Over the past year of developing, we’ve been constantly surprised by what AI can do—and how much it’s accelerated our workflow. Hiring an AI Android dev is definitely a direction we’ll look into more seriously :D
This in incorrect, I have been at Google more then 5 years and the work has been in go. Most of the teams around me use go as well. But this is not to say that there is lesser java/cpp use.
Your experience doesn’t invalidate the likeliness part of the parent comment.
You just happen to be in the subset / cluster / areas that write in golang. Probabilistically speaking across the entire Google engineering population both you and the teams around you are outliers. That doesn’t mean golang is insignificant.
As to whether golang was worth it I disagree with the parent, I think it was probably worth the resources invested, even if e.g. usage has leveled off internally, but at any rate this is a hard thing to measure so we’re all just opining.
You precisely made a point, it's easier and natural to say "⅏⁝⏏⌸" rather then "The pain you feel when you stumble around in the dark in drowsy stupor and step onto a plastic construction toy brick with your bare foot." It is the nuances and connotations in a particular language the bring out the 'true' meaning.
In one of the languages I speak, "hucci" means stupid, but in fun, loving way. Stupid just doesn't cut it.
