KittyHawk is not an Alphabet startup. It is no affiliated with Alphabet. The title is misleading.

Another article on HN today says it has personal funding from Larry Page. ie not Alphabet.

Kudos to Ruth Porat for making sure that Google's founders use their personal money to fund personal side projects.

What? They've funded side projects in addition to Google X doing there thing for many years. You think the CFO gets to tell the CEO what to do? She brought in meaningful changes (namely, not throwing money around like it's nothing). But trying to weirdly give her credit for this being a non-Alphabet company is... weird.

Title should definitely be updated. Furthermore, as far as I can tell it should be "Kitty Hawk" not "KittyHawk" [https://kittyhawk.aero/]

The <title> has it as 'Kittyhawk' but the footer says 'Kitty Hawk' and the terms say 'Kitty Hawk Corporation'

Yes. We've updated the title from the submitted “Alphabet stealth startup KittyHawk product debut: An Autonomous Air Taxi Service”.

I synched about 50GB to google drive and discovered that it started silently eliminating some of my files. The eliminated files weren't found on google dive's bin, but were in my local mac's trash without any matadata or folder info so I couldn't put them back into their original folders. Good thing I had a backup of all these files. Their synch algorithm seems messed up, it also fails to synch every 2 hours on mac. I've since switched to dropbox, it is worth the extra cost.

The same thing happened to me. Google Drive began silently deleting any duplicate files it found in any of my directories, leaving just one original. A lot of my projects use the same web framework, hence my projects were all broken. Restoring them via their UI wasn't possible either. I stopped using Drive after that.
