this is the greatest stuff on the web; not the cmu open learning initiative per se, but just universities & colleges doing this stuff generally speaking -- berkley, stanford (amazing for this stuff), mit (sort of set the standard) and several other top-tier schools. now i've never formally taken a programming class in my life, but via many of these on-line courses and their accompanying resources, I am now a software developer! i do have two (very unrelated) college degrees, but these on-line courses have definitely changed my life. thanks for the post...i love seeing this kind of stuff!

plessthanpoint5, I'm in the process of doing some research on techniques for learning software development online. Any chance I could email you with some questions? I'm at jake@noteleaf.com.

"Imagine if you could just resume your browsing session on your laptop or desktop from your phone."

my first thought exactly --> i use chromeToPhone all the time.

Imagine if you could just resume your browsing session on your laptop or desktop from your phone.

Firefox on Android can sync your tabs with your desktop browser (and vice-versa).

I think the default Android browser on Android 3.0 and above can do this too (it certainly syncs bookmarks fine)

not that i thought it would get apple'esque hype, but surprised that the buzz on this has been pretty quite today.

& radiolab (though they're more every ~2wks) http://www.radiolab.org/

cool...all the better it's in python. i'm not a pythonista or anything, but still think it's a great all around language (esp. for something like this where the focus is on the algorithm, not the code per se).

i dunno, very skeptical about the conclusion here. w/ the nexus prime (purportedly) at 4.65", that seems pretty ideal -- decently big enough to read a pdf, but still small enough for portability (pocket transport, unlike a tablet needing to be tossed into a backpack/bag of some sort). nice merging/compromise of smartphone & tablet (which i suppose is the point w/ this new ics os).
