To better serve MySQL users, we have optimized MySQL 8.0 comprehensively. The specific optimizations include improvements to InnoDB storage engine scalability, redo log optimization, resolution of performance degradation issues in certain scenarios related to query execution plans, binlog group commit optimization, memory usage optimization, high availability enhancements, and secondary replay architecture optimization. These improvements are based on data structures, algorithms, and logical reasoning, aiming for simplicity and efficiency while streamlining the MySQL optimization process.

Coding represents only a small part of a programmer's work. When tackling complex problems, AI still has limitations. Strengthening problem-solving skills remains essential for programmers.

What are the core limitations that AI has that humans don't? What would happen if the state of the art AI in 2-3 years has none of those limitations?

Then I'll figure it out then. No sense planning for things that probably won't happen.

Such hand wringing has happened for hundreds of years. Yes, technology has regularly caused short term shifts in people's employment. But the human world has one important element, humans. It exists for their benefit only. There are few people doing hand weaving now, but machine woven clothes are a net benefit. In my long career I shifted roles a number of times. Some people will need to do that.

A little about me:

Author of TCPCopy, MySQL kernel optimizer, author of the book "The Art of Problem-Solving in Software Engineering: How to Make MySQL Better", with extensive experience in maintaining MySQL and TCPCopy.

A book that analyzes MySQL performance design flaws, which should be very helpful for those interested in performance.

Unlike tcpreplay, tcpcopy is mainly used for replaying network traffic to servers either offline or in real-time.

This tool is mature and has been already used in many famous companies such as taobao and Netease in China.

BTW, it is free.
