Yes that seems so. Must be for cost reasons, I initially thought the new system was like the one they demoed in 2013 (http://lightfield-forum.com/light-field-camera-prototypes/nv...), much more like the Lytro light field camera in approatch. So yes as already said, same idea as Oculus.
