If “interest based advertising” is your first usage example, how about starting off with “this is a feature we want standardised specifically to support our abusive business model, and is explicitly anti-user”?


It's silly at this point for anyone to stay this path that Google is leading. If it's going into Chromium, we are past due for a fork to become the dominant implementation.

In the halcyon days of web one people had many news “ideas” of how to leverage this new “web thing” to advertise.

Inexplicably many different entities gravitated to animated cartoon animals on the screen. Neko cat was one such example.


Neko pre-dates the web. It was on the Mac in the 80's.


Why do Google proposal names sound like they’re NSA programs?


Because they are trying their hardest to make their Add-features to sound like they are security features.
