Here's my favorite personal story. I was a consultant, brought in on a project on-site at a client's location. This is my first day, and I'm meeting the VP of Marketing.

VP: We need to get these Cognos reports up and running.
Me: Hmm, ok. What can you tell me about these reports?
VP: Mostly that we need them up and running.
  Me: Who uses these reports?
  VP: Not sure. Ask so-and-so.
Me: What information is on these reports?
VP: Look, let's not get buried in details. We just need these reports up and running, mmm-kay?

Reports with undefined intervals and the only "requirement" is the title?

That's easy, shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. Empty reports with just a title are really friendly for the author and reader both.

I like that: "Test-first requirements analysis." A bit like shooting a monkey into space in an uninsulated tin can to see if there are any problems with that.

Work smarter, not harder!

heh, awesome.
