Being subject to a law or regulation you're against is not oppression, and you're not suffering. It can be, but that's not true by definition.

Having to do something you don't want to do, or not being allowed to do whatever you want, is not oppression.



Define oppression then.

Because I fail to see any conceptual difference here.


By your definition (as far as I can tell), all laws are oppression. Is there any law to which there won't be any opposition by some person out there? No, certainly not. So we must have laws and the debate must be whether particular laws are too restrictive or not.
