What did you build?

A 29er with a continuously variable transmission in the rear hub, mustache handlebars, wood fenders, and a crank made by a mill in Petaluma.

That sounds great. Any pictures anywhere? I need to get out of the ‘bike must go faster’ rut.

That’s a heck of a nice bike - you’re very good at what you do. Thanks for sharing that - now I have to talk myself out of doing the same thing. :)

I appreciate that - thank you!

Was a lot of work, but a fun project to really learn what goes into a bicycle. Definitely won't see another bike like mine on the road!

Exactly! It’s beautiful, functional and very cool in how original it is. Thanks for posting that image and for the chat - you’re very talented and have really inspired me.

It’s definitely green, fat and delicious.

In the initial version of Bike Index you were supposed to give them names. This was green and brown (the girl I was dating at the time insisted I try brown tires), so I used Avocado.

Looks like a $40k vintage bike.

Never seen wood fenders before. Very cool!
