Seveneves is extremely harsh against at least some humans I'd say. The Expanse has the slogan "you had paradise, and you paved it" repeated a few times.
The Expanse has some environmentalist characters in it, but I think the series as a whole doesn't tend that way. In my reading of the series it portrays the human need to consume and reach further out as just as natural as anything else.
