Free Python Screencasts (neckbeardrepublic.com)

What is really annoying is that Hacker News changes titles. http://cl.ly/image/032t1n1Q1o1c

Now this maybe because I created the screencasts, but this is more than just free screencasts. It was paid level of quality and planning was put into these screencasts.

I think it is important that community and people can identify brand and now that it is a free resource.

Very lame.

Especially since, in this case, what they changed it to is not even the title of the page. It makes sense a lot of times, but in this case not so much. :/

I was a subscriber and loved the screencasts.

Mahdi (googletron) responded to mails really quick as well.

Also in case anyone hasn't noticed the url: https://www.neckbeardrepublic.com/?completely=free&swagg=out...

:)

It requires signing up, which currently doesn't work.

It will be updated. :)

These are not working for me. On the page for any screencast, I get a screenshot of the cast, some blank white space next to it. I presume this is where the video should be, but nothing is clickable :/

Working here. You might have better luck viewing them on the creator's YouTube account: https://www.youtube.com/user/tinimakoo/videos

The FAQ talks about subscription, but there's no link or any mention of how to subscribe anywhere in the site. Looks like the site itself (other than the videos) is not updated.

While this is great! How is this going to be sustained? I expected a pre-roll or in screencast ad or any kind of advertisement, Nope.

Donation button? Nope...

I hope this gets to stay up for a long time.

There is very little cost to keeping this up.

Those of you who want to contribute to the costs are more than welcome too.

It's an absolutely great resource, but the videos are still broken if you're using HTTPS Everywhere.

Fixed.

Is there a way to sort these or order them by date?

They are ordered by date, latest at the top.

I want to see the oldest first

edit: maybe Feb 2013 was the first entry. Nvm

Awesome - thanks for posting this.
